JHM Crops welcomes the extension of the closing date for the BioEnergy Scheme 2008
announced by Minister Wallace at the Teagasc/IrBEA Conference today.
Speaking from the conference in Tullamore,Ronan Madigan PRO JHM Crops said the
extension should ensure the target of 1600 hectares for 2008 is fully met.
'Due to the recent adverse weather everything is a bit delayed this year. The extension
will allow farmers time to get their applications in to avail of the 50% Establishment
Grant' he said.'With announcements in this sector almost daily,it also gives farmers who
may have been undecided up to now a chance to lodge an application'.
