PRESS RELEASE 14/09/2008

‘ANOTHER FIRST FOR JHM’

JHM Biofuels, a subsidiary of JHM Crops is delighted to to announce the launch of the first ever Irish made Miscanthus Logs on the retail market in Ireland. Early indications are that the logs are a very impressive and successful fuel for home fires, ranges, log burners etc. and we have had huge interest from the retail sector.
Miscanthus is a renewable fuel grown by farmers in Ireland under contract to JHM Crops and processed locally at the McMahon EcoFuel facility in Kantoher, Co.Limerick. JHM Biofuels is proud to bring to the market a product that is grown locally and is also processed locally supporting local jobs. ‘It is a dream that has now become a reality after several years of hard work’says Joe Hogan of JHM Biofuels. ‘After extensive research and development we are satisfied that the product we are supplying is processed and packaged to suit the consumer and offers a real alternative to fossil fuels that are becoming ever more expensive’ he said. JHM Crops has plantations of Miscanthus all around Munster and is actively seeking new growers for next season to meet the growing demand for their product. Ronan Madigan of Shanagolden is the largest grower of Miscanthus in Ireland. ‘It is very encouraging to see the finished product on shop shelves’he said. ‘This should encourage more farmers to get involved in growing renewable fuel energy crops for the Irish market.’
Miscanthus Logs are now available in retail outlets throughout Limerick.
