Deadline now extended to Wednesday February 2nd for Department of Agriculture 2011 Bioenergy Scheme Grant
High Demand pushes deadline back
The Department of Agriculture has just announced the decision to push back the deadline for application to the 2011 Bioenergy Scheme Grant to February 2nd 2011. This decision was made on the back of huge demand from farmers to apply for the grant to plant Miscanthus this year, which was further compounded by recent severe weather conditions restricting our ability to visit many of these farmers. It is clear to all those in the industry that the demand for Miscanthus from energy users in Ireland means we need to plant multiples of what is already in the ground to even come close to meeting it. The Department is making a full announcement this afternoon on the extension.
JHM Crops look forward to making the two extra weeks count by catering for all of those interested in growing Miscanthus and working through the application process with them. The JHM team is on hand to talk to anyone interested in growing Miscanthus on what is involved. The grant extension follows a a great start to 2011 for JHM Crops and Miscanthus with the announcement by JHM and Bank of Ireland of the new funding structure available to new growers of the crop under the bank's new Green Fund. Now all those interested in availing of this great offer have time to apply for the grant but it is best advised to apply soon to avoid dissapointment as the demand from growers all over the country is unprecedented.
