MISCANTHUS AND WILLOW

Miscanthus or Elephant Grass is a fast growing, perennial woody type grass, which originated in South East Asia. The non-flowering forms of the plant grow rapidly, have low nutrient requirements, produce high yields, suffer from no known pests or diseases, is environmentally friendly and is harvested every year for 25 years or more, after full establishement. Planting Miscanthus under contract with JHM offers farmers a high net return per acre from and very low labour input after establishment. JHM also offers grower contracts for planting Willow which is another fast growing biomass crop and is harvested every three years. Willow will perform well on a wide range of soilsand once established will stay in the ground for 19-25 years. Click here to see why you should plant with JHM!

Due to JHM's success in promoting miscanthus in the recent years, there is an ever increasing demand in Ireland for the crop. JHM has to meet the demand of long-term biomass supply contracts and needs to significantly increase the area planted of Miscanthus and Willow in order to meet this demand. JHM Crops is actively seeking new growers in order to fulfil the demand for end-uses. Please [ contact us now to fastrack your grant application for Miscanthus and Willow.]
