Miscanthus Logs

JHM Crops Miscanthus logs are suitable for use in stoves, solid fuel appliances and open fires and sold in packs of 5 and 9. The product was launched in the Co. Limerick area in 2008 and there has been very significant interest since then from customers and suppliers. Feedback suggests customers are especially impressed with their long-lasting and slow burning characteristics as well as the fact it is a 100% Irish product and a carbon negative fuel. Made from 100% Irish Miscanthus grown on Irish Farms in Munster and Connaught, Miscanthus Logs provide the visible evidence that a strong market for Miscanthus exists that growers look for when they are considering investment in an energy crop. They compete with peat briquettes which are high in carbon emissions and offer little long-term viability. One Miscanthus Log lasts easily as long as a peat briquette but provides significantly more heat. There is real growth potential for JHM Miscanthus Logs in the coming years as the price of peat briquette will increase due to carbon levy/tax.
